About Us

Brentwood Evening Toastmasters (BET) members are a diverse group. Our members work in education, government, hospitals, banking, computers, music and many other fields. Some work for large corporations, some in small companies, and some are self-employed. We have native Tennesseans as well as members from overseas. So, no matter where you come from or what you do, you will fit in perfectly!

Everyone gets to speak at a Toastmasters meeting. You'll hear impromptu talks, prepared speeches, and evaluations. You will hear brand new, terrified speakers, intermediate speakers and advanced speakers. You will hear storytellers, humorists, motivational and informative speakers. All types of topics... all types of levels...all different reasons for being there.

Many people are surprised that a BET meeting is actually fun! Sure, we all are here to improve our public speaking skills, gain confidence, break out of our shells, or whatever else we wish to accomplish. But that doesn't mean it has to be boring!

The only way to understand a BET meeting is to attend one or even several! Visit us soon! There is no obligation, and no salesman will call. Come experience Brentwood Evening Toastmasters (BET) and Toastmasters International (TI).

How To Join Us

If you are interested in joining Brentwood Evening Toastmasters, simply complete the Membership Application that you received in your visitor's packet.  If you did not receive a visitor's packet, or if you have misplaced your application, we will be happy to supply you with a new application.

If you've never been a Toastmaster before, there is a "New Member Fee" of $20 that Toastmasters International collects to cover the cost of your first manual and other items in your New Member Packet. 

We collect $39 dues twice a year in March and September, which means your membership comes to just $5 a month!  (That's $4.50/month for International dues, and $2/month for local club dues.)

For new members, this 6-month fee is pro-rated for the month that you join. When you turn in your application to a Club Officer, we'll help you calculate the correct pro-rated amount. Please make your check payable to Brentwood Evening Toastmasters.
